Empire Avenue: The Social Media Exchange

For the past few weeks a new website has taken the internet by storm. This website, or more specifically, Social Network introduced a brand new concept to many people. The originality of this site sets it apart from all others. I will now introduce to you Empire Avenue; The People's Market or EAv, for short.

Empire Avenue is a Social Network that allows you to invest in users using a virtual currency called Eaves. It takes this a step further by pricing/ranking you according to a user's activity on the following sites:

Your activity can increase your investors' dividends making you a more valuable investment. Essentially, this is an online stock market of both people and companies.

This is a yes/no kind of answer. The website has a list of things that you do to win:

Get on leader boards (local, country etc.)

Become a millionnaire

This list seems very basic and unspecific but it is far from it. However, if you reach all of these goals, you can keep 'winning' by increasing your share prices in an effort to become a winning investment. Some may say that there is no way that last relates to winning the game and may believe winning is achieved by peaking at number 1 on the global exchange

This is a pretty easy one. Much like the point of social networks the goal is to allow users to interact in a hospitable mannor. You are more than able to make new friends on this website with the many social features it has; although you cannot physically add friends.

Like most new things, it is all about hopping on the bandwagon and being the first of your friends to do so. This site has experienced major growth at the probable expense of Chris Pirillo, a geek and self confessed Empire Avenue addict. This site is a new experience for the majority of users and allows you to have fun trading stocks with friends, family and total strangers.
